i can’t wait to see you for your milestone/ family session. below are some tips for your upcoming session and some things to help make your session go smoother
YOUR UPCOMING MILESTONE / FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT
MILESTONE SESSIONS AGES 7-9 MONTHS
Milestone sessions are perfect for babies who can sit up comfortably unassisted. When baby is steadily sitting, but not yet crawling its perfect. This stage usually last anywhere from 6-8 months of age. At this age their personalities are really starting to blossom! Our studio provides a huge collection of adorable boutique baby clothing, headbands & props. We also provide many beautiful backdrop sets for your session. These sessions are great both outdoors and in the studio. Our clothing can all go outdoors, and I can bring props as well. You are welcome to use our outfits or bring your own.
first birthday sessions one year
Also in the 'Baby' stage are 1 year olds. This age is still great for props especially if baby is walking or crawling super fast. These can be super helpful to keep baby on the setup since I use studio lighting. Baby’s this age can also get stranger danger. It’s important to let me know if you think your baby may have this. Usually if a baby stays home with mom only and doesn’t see many people is when I notice this the most. If you stay home with baby I would suggest you come photo ready to join in and we can capture some mommy and me photos too ( trust me you won’t regret those ). At least coming photo ready will be helpful so that I can use your hands or body in the event baby doesn’t want you leaving their side. I cannot stress enough to make sure you bring snacks for baby. They LOVE to eat, even if they just ate before leaving the house.

PURE WHITE CAKE SMASH & BATH SPLASH
Cake smash setups are taken mostly on pure white paper, providing you with clean and timeless photos. These images are simple and sweet focusing on your beautiful baby with a sprinkle of props. We provide cake accessories such as toppers and cake stands as well as white and confetti balloons. We have other balloon colors available upon request. You can add a custom-made balloon garland for +$100. Cake is not provided for allergy liability but we will send you recommendation photos. We have a beautiful collection of dresses, tutu skirts, and outfits for boys.
bath splashing
Bath splashing is available at your milestone session at no additional cost and taken on the same backdrop as the cake smash.
OUTDOOR FAMILY / MILESTONE SESSIONS
My private studio is available for family sessions or we can do a sunrise or sunset session outdoors
Once you are booked I will discuss different options for outdoor locations based on your preferences for the backdrop - field, creek, forest, etc
what to bring
1. We recommend bringing food for your little one even if they just ate before leaving. This is super helpful for baby’s that don’t like birthday cake and also for when they have stranger danger or are just unhappy in general.
2. If it’s an outdoor session bring comfortable shoes if we need to walk and bring your “pretty” shoes in a bag. Some locations can be kinda dirty ( creek ) so be sure to keep this in mind when we go over location options.
3. If we are doing a cake smash outside you will need a plastic bag for cake cleanup, and also a wet soapy washcloth in a ziplock bag to get cake off of your little one ( trust me baby wipes won't do the trick ) bring also a small towel to dry baby off. If doing this in studio I provide wash cloths to clean baby as well as towels to dry them off.
WHERE TO SHOP
Zara, Target, Old Navy are perfect to find children’s clothing. Online boutiques are easier for mama’s if you are looking for something specific. We have a entire blog post dedicated on clothing HERE We do provide a few motherhood dresses and gowns but most mamas do wear their own especially for outdoor sessions.
PLEASE FOLLOW THESE TIPS BEFORE YOUR SESSION
01. Bring snacks for your little one.
02. Treat yourself to a mani/pedi a day or two before your session. Go for natural or pastel shades to keep it classy.
03. Keep it natural and avoid any spray tans, excessive bronzers and shimmery products. Trust us, your natural glow is all your need.
04. Bring a favorite toy or have a video ready that your little one loves in the event they get cranky
05. Avoid wearing perfume or scented body lotions for your session if you are wearing a studio dress as the scents are hard to get out of the fabrics
06. Think about what you want to do with your images and where you want to hang them prior to the session so we can discuss it during your consultation
After your session is over we will schedule your session reveal. Wall art is a big part of my session reveals, even if you are unsure at this point if there is interest in a wall piece, every client gets to see their images in mock up form to provide an accurate visual during the final reveal process. You are welcome to text me photos of wall space where you may be thinking of hanging up a portrait in advance (614-361-0861).

TAKE A PEAK AT OUR STUDIO WARDROBE
Our wardrobe is mostly dedicated to pregnancy, newborn and motherhood sessions but we have a few items for mama’s for studio family sessions just not a ton. I feel it usually looks best if mama’s get their own dresses if we are photographing more than just mom & baby.
